Social Studies 2.0

Social Studies has been a very important class and this has benefited me much so. Throughout the year I have learned allot, and will enjoy this years end. However, learning more about Canada would have been a benefit; all in all, Social Studies 09 is my favourite class.

The S.T.F.

The Saskatchewan Teacher Federation has been in a dispute with the Canadian Government. Being a student, I am on ‘the wrong end of the stick.’ Now that we are in the last weeks of school more time needs to be dedicated to preparing for CFD’s. CFD’s are a very important aspect of the school year, and the teachers are not helping in this pursuit.

Ancient Greece

Throughout this week we have done many ways of educational activities. We have used: Power Point, Greek Hero Game, mini Flash quizzes, video notes, video quiz, and podcasting. I feel that I have learned the most from the Greek Hero Game because it is interactive and fun to do; however, there are other ways to learn. All in all, the traditional ways to teach may not always be the best.

Canada Votes 2011

For some, voting can be a very difficult thing; although, for others it is an easy decision. I personally am in favour of the Bloc Québécois, some people will disagree. This is an important aspect, everyone should consider all parties. This upcoming federal election is a waste. It takes thousands of dollars to run a election, which could be better spent on fixing roads, education, or the environment.

Interns

I have enjoyed working with Mr. Mann and Mr. Eiswirth throughout the days they have been here. They are innovative thinkers and I have had the benefit to be around them. The only thing that I believe they can improve on is to treat everyone like an equal {Not Talking Down}.

Time Travel Agency

I have enjoyed working on this project as a group. Overall, I would like to have this experience again because it was enjoyable and innovative. However, there was a large amount of work, it helped to have a partner to share the load. I appreciate we get to use technology in and throughout this class.

Progress Report #1

So far this semester I have really enjoyed this class. However, I was hoping that we would do more projects on Photoshop or Flash. Mr. Vendramin has done a very good job of keeping me interested and wanting to do more. I find there is nothing in this class that does not work right. Overall I would give this class a 5/5.

Dihydrogen Monoxide {DHMO}

I think that Dihydrogen Monoxide {DHMO} is a colourless and odorless chemical compound. The U.S. Government and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) do not classify Dihydrogen Monoxide as a toxic or carcinogenic substance (as it does with better known chemicals such as hydrochloric acid and benzene), DHMO is a constituent of many known toxic substances, diseases and disease-causing agents, environmental hazards and can even be lethal to humans in quantities as small as a thimbleful.I find that this site is a credible and reliable source of information. In conclusion, I would be willing to sign a petition banning DHMO.

o DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
o Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
o Used by the U.S. Navy in the propulsion systems of some older vessels.
o Used in Nuclear power plants.
o Used in pesticide production and distribution.

Does God Exist?

“Does God exist?” is a very hard, but extremely interesting question, because as people do we really know? I have been going to church for as long as I can remember, my grandparents would always take me. I do believe that God exists, but I truly do not know. I find that God is everywhere; in our homes, churches, and everyday lives. I believe God shows us how we can be better in all that we do.
